Myrtó Nizami impressed the committee of the Johan Wagenaar Foundation. The committee selected her as composer in residence for Festival Dag in de Branding. Audiences can discover the very latest contemporary music there. Nizami will work on a chamber opera for two seasons with the help of a coach. It will give her the unique opportunity for further development.
Composer and pianist Nizami, is fascinated by who a person is at their core. In her composition, she will work on peeling away the different ‘masks’ and aspects of people’s personalities. The result will be a composition for a singer, an ensemble and electronica. She will perform it at Festival Dag in de Branding in 2025.
Coaching
While preparing her project, Nizami will be coached by a composer, an experienced director as well as a choreographer. They will also address any questions about how to approach and structure an artistic production. And because the festival includes three editions per season, there will be many opportunities for Nizami to test run the different components of her production and learn from the feedback she receives.
