Dioraphte gives financial support to community projects in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Malawi. The focus is on people who live in poverty and isolation, and on projects and activities that reach large groups of people in society. Projects may run for several years.
Dioraphte actively searches for potential partners and invites them to submit proposals. Dioraphte will also consider applications from organisations already known or contacted through intermediaries we know.
We will not respond to unsolicited e-mail regarding possible applications and unsolicited applications we receive will not be taken into consideration.
Preference is given to projects and activities that reach large groups of people. Projects may run for several years.
Support is provided through donations, which can be:

The Dioraphte Foundation (the Fund) applies the following guidelines and criteria:
In all cases, the Dioraphte Foundation’s Board decision is final. No appeal is possible. Furthermore, the Board shall not be bound to justify its decision.

Our foundation’s mission is to provide financial support to organisations in the Netherlands and abroad which support good causes, and whose sole or main objective is to organise projects or activities for the benefit of:
- vulnerable groups within society;
- health care;
- creating employment opportunities;
- promoting and carrying out scientific research;
- Dutch cultural heritage; and/or
- Dutch Performing Arts,
and any other project or activity either related or conducive to the interests outlined above, in the broadest sense of the words.

For 2018 Dioraphte Foundation has the intention to spend approximately 14,500,000 euros on projects from partners. An amount of 4.5 million euro will be spend on social initiatives in the five African countries Dioraphte is active in. 3.5 million euro will be spend on social initiatives in The Netherlands, 3 million euro on science & research, 2 million euro on perfoming arts and 1.5 million euro on cultural heritage.
The Foundation’s current bylaws describe our policy as follows:
‘The board members do not receive any wages, be it directly or indirectly. The word “wages” does not include reasonable reimbursement of expenses incurred on behalf of the Foundation, nor non-excessive fees. The amount of the fees to be paid to the members is determined by the Board. All reimbursements made to members of the Board will be listed as such in the annual statement of accounts and explained.’
